How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4452449 / DE64-02219A Microwave Select Button

Had to remove the panel on the side..We had no problem getting it fixed.Proud you had the part we needed. 

Removed old board and button modules,replaced with new. Easy fix..... two screws at the top, one for the side which drops out containing a circuit board behind it. Three screws holding it on. Take them out and separate the board from the side container by unplugging the button board module. There's a metal mounting shield held in by plastic clip posts, pry those apart gently and the circuit module is fully exposed for removal, which is also held in by plastic clips. Pry apart gently, remove old board and snap in replacement board. Button assembly is in the side piece and also held in place with plastic clips. Same procedure, pry clips gently, pop out old and snap in new buttons. Reverse the removal to reinstall. 

Ordered the parts which cam quick and changed it out.Took about 15 min.to replace and worked great.the pack that cost 6 dollars came with two sets of buttons nice touch.Very happy with the product.

For the price I should have ordered button and board together cause when button went in must have made bad stop on board. Husband was amazed I did it all myself. 6 screws removed replaced parts and back together. 

I had a great experience fixing this myself. The fan button broke due to a very poor design. The button is made of plastic and is held in place by a 1/32 inch connection to a plastic frame. Very easily broken. The part was available, gaining access wasn't hard and actually kind of fun. The connections weren't complicated. Total repair was less than an hour and saved the microwave from the scrap heap. The only obstacle I found was getting a good diagram of how the facia of the microwave came off to gain access. However the internet showed a pretty good picture.
