How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4156044 / DA66-00344A Refrigerator Door Cam Hinge Riser

I wish all repairs were this easy and inexpensive! I followed the directions on the video from the website and in a short time it was done and the door works like new. Emptying the refrigerator door and cleaning the shelves took longer than actually replacing the parts. Before I ordered, I did chat with the support folks on the website to confirm that both the lower and upper cam risers are identical. Glad I ordered 2 as both existing ones were little more than smears of rubber. 

Installed a new part ( door cam riser) which I purchased from AppliancePartsPros. Removed the refrigerator door. Installed the part on the lower hinge and now the door closes normally. 

Replaced door cam riser on the bottom hinge. Fixed my problem. 

Replaced the Hinge cam riser and door cam riser as shown in video. The videos helped a lot. It was an easy repair, took me about 15-20 minutes. 

My daughter replaced the two cam risers for the door. It only took 15 minutes and fixed the problem. The door now closes and stays closed. A few times after coming home the door was found open and several items had to be thrown out.

I have had my frig over 13 years and these little parts finally caved in and broke. I went through this big debate do I buy a new frig or do I try to fix it on my own? I am glad I went with fixing my frig. It was the easiest project I have ever done in my home. I had previously watched their videos on how to repair it so I knew which tools to have ready and just waited for the parts to arrive. It took me less than 10 minutes probably. Now my door opens with such ease and closes even better than before. Only comment would be that they should take out the sticker that says it costs $1, when I paid $3 and $6 for it. Either way it was still cheaper to repair it myself than purchasing a new frig that I really didn't have to. 

Replacing the door and hinge cams fixed the issue. Removing the freezer door was very easy and the video corresponding to the parts I bought was very helpful. 

I followed the instructions exactly as shown on your repair video: 1. Cleaned out the refrigerator and put perishable foods into an ice cool. 2. Turned off the water to the refrigerator and unplugged it. 3. Unscrewed the plate on top of refrigerator door and disconnected the wires. 4. Removed the door. 5. Replaced the Door Cam Riser and Hinge Cam Riser. 6. Put the door back on. 7. Tested door several times. 8. Reconnected the wires / plate on top of door. 9. Turned water back on and plugged in refrigerator.
