How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4205355 / DC64-00519B Washer Door Lock Switch Assembly

I entered the model number of the washer, found the lock immediately on appliancepartspros.com ordered it, received it the next day, unplugged the washer, used a flat head screwdriver to find the spring holding the rubber cylinder in place, removed the metal ring, unscrewed the three screws holding the lock in place, removed and replaced lock, ring and plugged in washer. Works just like new! Easy as pie! 

I initially removed and rebuilt the existing latch mechanism, but the repair failed (I think I may have accidentally lost a small piece during the rebuild process). I ordered a replacement assembly and swapped it out with the damaged one in about 5 minutes. 

I analized which part I thought it needed - I copied down the model # and serial number, I called Samsung - they wanted to send a repair person - which would have been a three day wait for them to come. I assumed that after they came, they would order a part, and then it would be another few days before the problem was fixed, so I looked up how to fix the problem, decided I was capable of doing the repair myself, and purchased the part myself from Appliance Parts Pro! It came the very next day - and I replaced the part without issue. I should tell you the joy I had when telling my husband (who is away this month) that I saved us a whole lot of time and money. And, I would have been visiting the laundromat that very day! 

Ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros. Although there was not a how-to video on the website, I did find one on YouTube that your company had previously recorded. 

Husband took the washing machine apart to get to the lock, it was not broken. Was able to reattach and fix the machine but the wife in the meantime had ordered the part. So just in case, the fix is temporary we are ready with the new part to the fix it. So far so good. Your videos are very helpful. Thank you. 

Opened up latch enclosure and tried to move latch mechanism back into the open position so the door would close/latch, but unable. Bought new latch and replaced. Watched online YouTube video and it was quick and easy. 

I just replace the front door switch, so far so good, thanks. 

I ordered the door latch mechanism, Saw a couple of videos on how to replace it, said a little prayer and got to work. Proud to say that after five minutes I fixed the door mechanism and started a load of laundry. And the best part other than fixing it myself was that I did not have to wait for a repairman !
