How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4205355 / DC64-00519B Washer Door Lock Switch Assembly

I went to appliance parts pro to determine what parts I needed. I found a repair video for the seal which I watched to figure out how to replace the locking mechanism or door switch assembly. After watching the video I removed only the front portion of the grey seal and pulled out the locking mechanism/door switch assembly hidden behind the seal. When I took out the door switch assembly I made sure to take a picture so I made sure everything was put back the same. It was not a difficult fix. Now that I know how to do it. It would only take me 15 minutes to fix. Everything works perfectly. The repair fixed the door locking mechanism. 

I used to repair appliances, so this was a simple fix. I replaced the door locking mechanism. No need to tear the washer completely apart, just take the retainer spring off of the gasket between the door and the tub and slip the gasket off the outer panel and you have full access to the locking mechanism. 

I ordered a new electric door latch panel and a new door latch. An online video walked me through the repair and it took less than 15 minutes and it works like new again. Doing it myself saved me $100’s and the part was here in 2 days as promised. I could not be happier!!!
