How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4201898 / DC47-00018A Dryer High Limit Thermostat

Replaced heating element, thermostat, thermistor, and two internal fuses. Was not difficult to repair and dryer is running better than new now. Heating element failed, but changed all common failing parts since I had the dryer apart. Needed a rivet gun to install one of the fuses-FYI. 

We watched a youtube video on how to replace the Heating Element and did it. 

I ordered High Limit Thermostat, Samsung Thermal Fuse and Dryer Thermistor did not know which one I needed and while I waiting on my parts I found on YouTube how to check to see what might be wrong. I got the parts in and I pulled the Thermal Fuse and shook it and it did not have rattle to it replaced it and it works great so if something goes wrong I have the other two. It took me a few hours to do it but not bad since I am a 60 year old woman and first time working on a dryer 

I wasn't sure if it was the thermostat or the heating element until I took it apart. Once I got it apart I realized it was the heating element that had gone bad. I went ahead and replaced the heating element and the thermostat just to be sure. I did have to take almost the whole dryer apart to do it, but the how to videos made it so much easier to do! 

Watched You Tube video, ordered part from Appliance Parts Pros, put it back together and everything works like a charm. Thanks. 

Received exactly the right parts that I needed. I confirmed that the element was burned out, and replaced element, thermostat & thermal fuse. The only issue that I experienced was that some models allow access to the heating unit without removing the front bulkhead and drum. However, my model required removal of those components, which wasn't a major issue. It just took a little more time to reassemble & get everything lined up properly. Dryer now works great! 

Replaced the heating element. While I had the dryer disassembled, I also replaced the thermostat and fuse. Might as well. Very satisfied with the amount of time it took to deliver the parts to a small town in Texas. 

I decided that the issue was probably the heating element. I ordered the heating element from Appliance Parts Pros, as well as a couple of other minor electronic items associated with the heating element. I then watched a video on the installation and then attempted it. Once I moved the dryer out of the laundry room, it took maybe 30 minutes to finish. I started it up and it worked great. A new dryer would've cost around $1000 and I did everything for less than $200. I was very satisfied. 

I replaced the thermal fuse and all of the other components that goes with it. And also cleaned out ductwork which probably cause the problem because it was packed with lint build up.
