How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4334981 / DA63-02284B Refrigerator Ice Cube Tray

It almost seemed like the ice was sticking to the ice tray, so, when expelling the cubes, instead of dropping into the bin whole, some would just shatter, while others were never released and remained in the tray during water refill. As a result, solid ice was forming in the bottom of the ice bin, and just a small amount of broken ice was being produced. The Ice Cube Tray was replaced and it is now working normally. 

Replaced it 

Removed entire tray assembly. The only challenge we had was that there was a cover on the bottom that had to be taken off that was not in the video. Once that came off it was very easy. 

Fixed following the video fix. 

Thawed out the freezer and ice maker parts and replaced the ice cube tray. 

Model # was inside frig door. Looked # up on the internet. AppliancePartsPros.com identified the part number and price was reasonable, ordered. Came really fast, thank goodness! Watched a YouTube video on how to install. It worked just like they said it would. Took out the broken part. Loosened some screws and fitted the new part. When all was in its proper place, plugged the frig back in, turned water on and hoped it would work again. Eureka! We have ice. I am 69 years young, and my husband wasn't sure I could complete the job. The most difficult part was the two of us pushing the frig back into place. Most important two things are UNPLUG and SHUT OFF WATER 

Replace all parts with no issues. Working just fine! 

Removed and replaced ice cube tray. Took off two screws and unplugged the ice maker. Pushed down tab and removed head asy. Pulled out old tray and replaced with new tray and reinstalled. Working properly now. 

Removed broken parts, tried to glue them with super glue, to no avail. Ordered replacement part, by far the easiest part of the entire ordeal, and installed with much cursing. Finding the part on the site, identifying, ordering and fast delivery were the most pleasant part. While the very fast delivery was nice, it also meant I had to tackle this much sooner than I had hoped, could not put it off until maybe the family got used to not having an icemaker and forgot about it. My wife was completely fooled into thinking I actually knew what I was doing. 

After watching many YouTube videos I finally found one where the gentleman determined that the ice cube tray in his Samsung refrigerator was cracked and not twisting the way it should to let the ice cubes drop out. Water then gets added to the tray over the ice cubes, causing it to overflow. I looked at the underside of mine and sure enough, it was cracked in the back. I ordered a replacement from AppliancePartsPros and had the new tray installed in 10 minutes. There are two Phillips screws that need to be removed at the top front of the ice cube maker and the unit slides out and down. You unclip the wiring harness to remove the whole thing from the fridge and then depress a lever on the ice maker to slide the motor assembly out sideways and replace the tray. Assemble in reverse order. We now have proper ice cubes again and no leaks!
