How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6015313 / WPW10119828 Washer Lid Screw

I read the forum online about the Whirlpool Cabrio washer lid defect. My washer model WTW7800XW2 The lid was glass and made with the plastic frame. The plastic frame was easy crack so I want the metal. I bought the metal lid with new hinge and screws. It fit perfect and easy to replace. Save a lot than the glass lid. No need to call technician to fix. 

Lid and parts came quickly, they were easy to install - in 15 minutes washer was good as new! 

Ordered replacement lid and hardware 

Replaced old part 

Ordered new metal lid screws and hinge brackets. Arrived in one day. Removed old lid, screws and brackets then installed new lid, bracket and screws. Very easy, wife is very happy! 

Glass lid on these washers is an obvious design issue that Whirlpool has no fix for. I found info on the internet that directed me to buy these parts even though they are not listed for my model. And in changing all parts lid, hinges and screws all is well in the household. Happy wife, happy life.. Thanks Appliancepartspros.com 

Remove and replaced with new item. Great service and had item delivered on Saturday Dec 31, at no additional charge. 

New parts easy fix 

I did what others on this thread have done. I replaced the glass lid with a metal one. It works and fits perfectly. Just make sure to also purchase the two hinges and four screws. If they sell padding to put behind the hinges (like in their instructional video) buy that too. I used foam weather stripping. Repair was very quick and easy. I received the lid the next day, even though I selected regular delivery.
