How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6017747 / WPW10248240 Temperature Switch

I removed the hose from the switch and reattached it to the new switch. It worked for one cycle and the problem returned. Read online troubleshooting switch bad was listed as a common problem. I replaced the temperature/water level switch with a new part very easy to replace once you get to the top of the washer open and retried the washer is now working as should. 

Fill, but no drain, Lid switch 

The washer has done this before. This part always fixes it. How does temperature switch affect the cycle with it filling and agitating? Easy to swap out. 

I replace the temperature switch. All it took was a putty knife to open the control panel. The temp switch is retained by an easy to release plastic tab.

I was ready to pay $800 for a new washer, but I punched in my problem to youtube, They showed an easy fix and got the part for $140. 10 minutes and all fixed, next day shipping. 

Replaced temperature switch on advice of online help. 

The other commenters on this website helped diagnose and YouTube provided instructions to replace. It was as simple as stated before. The problem was intermittent at first, but then became constant. It was also spritzing water during the spin cycle. Wife thought nothing was wrong but she also doesn't stare into the glass top and watch the whole cycle to know how it worked before the problem started. Correct operation = Fill, Agitate, Drain, Fill, Agitate, Drain, Spin. Problem operation = Agitate and partially fill, agitate, drain and spritz, agitate and partially fill, spin and spritz. 

With a new timer. 

Water was not entering the basket on any of the wash cycles . Spoke to a Appliance Parts Pros who suggested a repair part . When I received it I was able to watch the repair video on the site and the problem was fixed . Love Appliance Parts Pros .
