How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP2996731 / 279441 Dryer Front Drum Bearing Ring

Took old one out and replaced with new one. 

Followed videos on website for all parts . All repairs were fairly simple. Vacuumed out dryer interior. Put it all back together and tried it out. Was a little noisy at first but once everything lined back up it was as quiet as day one. This dryer is 16 years old. Hopefully it will last a lot longer! 

Replaced it. 

After watching your videos, I found my thermal fuse blew I then took the dryer apart and cleaned out the lint vent and found the front bearing was worn. I then ordered the new parts and was surprised when they arrived the very next day. It took me about 30-40 minutes to put the dryer back together and it now works perfectly. Thank you for your service and very quick delivery 

I replaced them. Plus I cleaned out the entire dryer. 

Replacing the thermal fuse was a snap. We also decided do some maintenance and to replace some wear parts while the dryer was down. Everything we ordered fit perfectly! We cleaned out the ducting, and the dryer is performing like new. 

I found out that the drum wsa getting a lot of resistance. When I opened the dryer i noticed that the felt was worn down and the plastic lining on the inner part of the drum had come off in a couple of places. I replaced these parts with the help of the DIY videos and it is fine now. 

Replaced front and rear felt seals as well as electric heating element which was 22 years old. All thermostats and time checked out fine. Also replaced belt as preventative. 

Took drum out to replace parts guided by repair videos. Also replaced drum belt and belt tension (idler) puller "while I was at it." Took the opportunity to inspect other parts and vacuum-out lint that accumulated inside dryer over some years. Very pleased with repair experience, and Appliance Parts Pros' repair videos and speed of parts' delivery. (I am a repeat customer.) 'Saved me money and the appliance is operating "like new." 

Replaced bad coils on gas solenoid valve. While I had it apart, I replaced the idler pulleys, belt, belt tensioner, rear seal, and front bearing ring.
