B April 28, 2016 My very old model whirlpool dryer runs well.was left when I purchased my home 28 years ago. No problem, it runs well. The filter in the front needs replacement. It's a straight plastic bar with a half moon shaped screen that fits down in a slot. I will look for a model number tomorrow. It might be worn off.

Jose M February 15, 2015 for Model Number LGP6646AW0 My dryer making noise and I have gone through your video I understand how to change the drum felt. But I not seen any video how to change front felt and not mentioned the part also. I have seen how to change the front plastic panel, but my dryer have fiber felt also which is connected with front cover.
1 Answer Jose, When you get the front of the dryer off the front dryer seal will be located on the bulkhead. You will tear this off and install the new one using the adhesive that comes with it. Read More...
Bob May 13, 2014 for Model Number EED4400WQ0 The dryer was noisy when running so I replaced the rollers and tensioner/belt. One of the shafts looked a little damaged, but it seem to roll fine. Fast forward a couple of weeks and it now sounds like there is a tennis shoe rolling around inside the dryer, especially if it is a light load. I can reach in and pull the drum forward and it sounds better for a few seconds, then back to the thumping. Should I replace the rollers again and their shafts?
1 Answer Hello Bob. Make sure the felt seals are good. If so, then yes, you need to replace the shafts along with the rollers. Read More...
Marcey January 13, 2014 for Model Number kenmore 8668110 My dryer had extended problems with a roller years ago and we replaced the broken one, the back felt and the belt. We noticed that the bulkhead was gouged at the time but moved ahead with the repair. Fast forward 8 years. It had been working fantastic. No noise or problems with clothes being pinched causing holes. Now however the dreaded holes in the clothes are back. No noise other than a slight squeek. We checked the rollers and the felt appears fine however the front felt and plastic bearing is looking worn and a clip is broke. What could be the new cause in clothing being pinched creating small holes in lighter weight fabric and some midweight fabric?
1 Answer Hello Marcey. It sounds like the front seal is the problem. If the rollers and rear seals looks good, then it has to be the front. Read More...
Gary W. May 04, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool WED5800 Dryer was thumbing. The rollers were bad. I replaced the rollers, belt and tensioner. Now it is making a rubbing noise. Took it apart two more times and still unable to determine the cause. I suspect it could be the tensioner wheel rubbing the motor pulley, but I can not confirm. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Gary. You need to check the felt seal W11035878 on the unit. It will cause the rubbing noise. Read More...
Rand April 03, 2013 for Model Number LEQ9858PWO Hello. The unit has a LOUD thumping sound, like a bass drum in a parade that sounds every second or two when the dryer is running. I took it completely apart and the rollers seem fine and the motor rotates, but could it be a drum (warped?) or worn rear felt? We've had this dryer for years, and I've replaced heating elements and belts but that's been it. Other wise, except for the thumping sound, it works fine. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Rand. It could be a bad drum causing the issue, but most likely, it is the rollers 349241T on the unit that is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Erica July 27, 2012 for Model Number 86568810 My dryer has begun to make this really loud noise while running. It starts off quiet but gradually gets louder. It's kind of like a rubbing noise. When I open the door the drum is turning but it is definitely the drum making the noise. I opened the top of the dryer and looked at the black seal strip and it looks fine. Just wondering what could be making the noise now. It also smelled like burning hair when I shut it off. Not sure if this help but it was something else I noticed.
1 Answer Hello Erica. You need to check and see if the noise is coming from the rollers on the unit. You can remove the drum and turn the rollers by hand and if they are tight or bad, you will need to replace them. Read More...
