How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP2996731 / 279441 Dryer Front Drum Bearing Ring

Replace rear rollers and front bearing as well as belt and tensioner 

Ordered bearing , installed same 15 minutes, 

Replaced drum seals and rollers. 

The front bearing ring was broking, It was easy to replace. But later notice the two back roller wear worn out. The place them and the dryer work grant. 

I ordered the parts through appliance parts pro. Watch the repair video easy to follow removed and replaced the parts. Double checked repairs. 

Took the dryer apart, ran cont. on coils, 1 was bad. Taken the igniter out, looks like it was the original, crusty and burned. Took the dryer cycling thermostat out, checked cont. it was okay, but, could not determine the high & low variance on it. Found that the bearing ring for front support was cracked & loose in spots. So I put it all in new with parts I purchased from App. Pros. Everything runs just as new 

First I watched your repair video, took a few notes and proceeded to do the repair. By the way thanks for the detailed and concise instructions given in your videos. 

I removed the top and front of the dryer. I found that the front bearing ring was broken and the front felt seal was damaged. Unfortunately, I broke one of the top locks when removing the top of the unit. I discarded the damaged parts. The new bearing ring snapped into place perfectly as did the top lock. However, the felt seal did not have the correct number of holes for mounting like the original seal. The old seal was held in place with three pins. The new seal only had holes for two pins. I simply removed the center pin and installed the seal with only the two outer pins. This seems to be working fine. No problems so far. 

Replaced suport rollers idler pulley belt and front ring. easy as pie. runs like a champ now. a.p.p. was great would definitely reccomend. 

I ordered a set of Dryer bearing rings and took about 30 minutes to fix. I also took time to clean out the inside of dryer machine and the Exhaust vent tube. My 15 year old Kenmoore still doing great.
