How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6020669 / WPW10381562 Washer Door Boot

Appliance Parts Pros.com had a great instructional video that was very helpful and made the repair simple. The part was shipped and sent in reasonable time. The part fit exactly and the washer was back up and running. The washer seems to even be running quieter. I don't know what that has to do with it but the wife is happy. That makes me happy. Thank you for your assistance. 

Replaced torn door seal/bellow. 

I ordered the part at 4:57pm from here with standard shipping. I watched the instructional video that's linked in the product description that night. 16 hours and 3 minutes later the part was on my doorstep... At 2pm I decided to start the project. Aside from having to hunt for the correct tools in my basement there were only a few minor differences in my repair. 1. There was no need to remove the top panel of the machine, everything can be accessed from the front of the machine. (Useful for me because my dryer is stacked on top of the washer.) 2. My machine (WFW9150WW01) had 1 Torx-15 screw behind the soap tray. 3. The rest of the screws were 1/4" standard hex head screws. 4. There was a vertical Phillips screw underneath the control panel hidden by the door. It was easily removed once the door was opened. The hardest part was reinstalling the bottom kick panel while lying on the floor trying to see where the screws go. I finished and was washing a test load at 3pm! 1 hour total repair!!! The entire process from diagnosing, to ordering, to full repair was about 22 hours!!! Unbelievable!!! I couldn't even get a repair guy to come over in that amount of time for an estimate!!! I ordered the gasket and my 24 year old son and I followed the instructions on your video to install it.The only procedure not mentioned was putting on the inside part of the gasket closest to the drum.We figured it out and got it on with no problem.Probably took us twice as long as you professionals. We were satisfied with the results. Your videos are great. It's nice to know there are companies like you that help people save money by doing the job yourself. 

Replaced the bellow 

My husband and I watched the video that is provided by Appliance Parts Pros and then ordered the part we needed. We watched the video again before we took the washer apart. 

Took apart washing machine as per video installed new bellows it did take very long put back in service video very helpful no wasted steps 

Following the video on the site, and with the help of my daughter, we pulled the panels and the old bellow, fit the new one into place and put everything back the way we found it. Most challenging was that our machine is older than the one in the video so the were differences in what nut drivers were needed and such, so that delayed us as we ran to the tool shed to pull the correct tool adding to the time needed to complete the repair. Other than that, all went as planned and the washer was back in service quickly. ** One caution, if you can find one hole it's very likely there are others you can't feel or find. I was amazed at the rip we found once the old bellow was off the machine. **
