How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6020669 / WPW10381562 Bellow

This is a pretty easy fix. The most difficult portion, is getting the spring clamp back on after all else is complete. 

Order part from appliance parts pro. received it in a few days. they had video on how to take off old one and how to put new one on. this made it so easy. 

After finding the needed part (very easily on this web site) I watched a 10 min video. I ordered the part. It came in just 2 days! It was very wasy to replace, with the assistance of one extra hand (my son) and a few tools. once in place, the problem was fixed. I spent under $120. The repair man quoted well over $200 for parts and labor! 

Watched a youtube video and it was easy to do. 

My husband and I where able to replace the bellow in our washer, by following the instructions given in the video. We did not run into any problems at all thanks to that how to video. 

I went to AppliancePartsPros.com and ordered the part I needed. It came within 2 days. There was even a video on their website showing how to install the bellow. That was a tremendous help. After getting the tools that I needed to to the do the repair I was done in 30 minutes. Thank you so much my wife is now a happy woman! Btw it was cheaper buying it through this company rather than Lowes or Home Depots appliance parts 

Thought there was an issue with the lock so I replaced that and the issue was still there. So I'm sending the replacement lock back. After reading more about the issue and error codes I decided to go for changing out the electronic control board. I pulled the board out from the bottom of the washer and found a capacitor blown on the unit. Changed out the electronic control board and the washer was back to normal. We also had a huge 3-4 inch gash develop in the bellow that water would pour out of (only sometimes) so I replaced it as well. The control board was a super easy swap with just unplugging multi-connectors and simply swapping the unit out.This could be done with only removing the bottom panel of the washer. The bellow change required taking off the top panel and the entire front of the washer but was a fairly easy process. Maybe 7 - 8 screws total for the top and front to come off. The bottom panel is 3 screws on my unit. Very happy to get it going again! 

I ordered a new bellows. The repair went pretty smoothly until I had to put on the final clamp. I had to get a friend to help me because the spring is strong and I couldn’t keep the clamp from pulling off the bellows while pulling down on the spring. We also used a paint stirrer to act like a shoe horn to get the last part of the clamp on. 

I watch the video . My washer is a little older but about the same. It helped. It was not as hard as I thought it would be. I just took my time and everything worked out. The only hard part was the outer clamp. but a little work and luck I got it. 

Very easy to remove the baffle (with the guidance of a YouTube video) and replace it with the part I ordered. Definitely needed a second person to put the spring clamp back on since I didn't have the strength to do it by myself.
