The site had an excellent short video showing the basic repair performed on a clean new-appearing washing machine. Most belt replacements will be on older machines with belts that have been slipping and shedding black powdery carbon-like material on floors covered with many years worth of lint. Cleaning away the sticky lint and black powder-like mess is not mentioned in the video. Most homeowners will want to clean. Soap and water will get it done. The motor slides to tension the belt. If the motor gets stuck the belt slips under heavy loads. Disassembling, cleaning and lubing the moving motor mounts corrects the problem. This is not mentioned in the video. The job is easy but takes time. Use a silicone lubricant. The owner's manual, located elsewhere, shows how to open the machine's front. Use a putty knife to push back latches at the top of the front panel, lift top to access screws located at the edges. Remove, and access the motor.
