How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008836 / WP389140 Washer Drive Block

I thought it would be the more common clutch change for a direct drive basket, but it turned out to be the Basket Drive and Drive Block. The aluminum drive block wore out very uniformly in the center and it was hard to see what was wrong at first. The damaged block then damaged the steel drive tabs on the Basket Drive shaft and deformed and bent them over. The whole basket dropped and almost wore through the plastic tub, so I caught it just in time. I'm rebuilding my old machine because my new HE machine just can't get my work clothes clean enough, or to smell as good as they used to. Thanks for the great videos, they were a Big help, all went well and I'm up in running the same day my parts arrived. 

45 MIN. replaced the clutch assembly, The video made it simple as could be !! washer pulled out repaired and back in 45 min. ALOHA from cabin in Florida 

1) Installed new gearbox/bearings 2) Installed new water inlet valve 3) Installed new outer tub main seal 

Replaced the washer drive block & just to be sure, replaced the suspension rod & bearings. 

Replaced these parts: videos were excellent. One thing: drum was stuck and hard to remove. Used WD40 to help break corrosion. 

After watching the video that Appliance Parts Pros provided. I replace just about all parts that would cause the washing machine to shake and move. Their video on how to replace each part was better than any one I had seen on YouTube. I just want to thank them for providing just great service. Once all parts were replaced I tested it with an empty load it was great. I got behind on my washing and had several loads. The washer does better now then when I first bought it new. The only thing I can hear when doing a load on laundry it the agitator during the wash cycle. I can not hear it when it goes into the spin cycle. I can not say enough about the outstanding help Appliance Parts Pros video are when doing a repair. 

Tore it apart and replaced the items I purchased. 

Bought new suspension roids, drive block, hose, and q bearing kit. 

The washing machine needed some new parts and an overall cleaning. The inner tub was rusted to the original drive block and had to be taken off with a pulley puller. The repair would have been much quicker if the inner tub hadn’t been rusted to the drive block. The new drive block came quickly and worked perfectly. 

Replaced the washer drive block, also bought the spanner wrench easy repair washer works like new.
