How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4294048 / Y303836 Dryer Blower Wheel Assembly

Had my repairman install the blower wheel assembly and retaining clip, which was ordered Monday afternoon and received Wednesday. The dryer was fixed by Wednesday night. Yeah! Thank you for the fast delivery of parts. The dryer is now drying without noise and in early June I will have my Maytag dryer for 35 years. Hopefully, my Maytag repairman will have the loneliest job. Thanks for the quick shipment. 

Thought it was the Drum Support Roller but when I took it apart it was definitely the Blower Wheel assembly. Replaced that and the Dryer Drum Belt and both Drum Support Rollers since I had it open anyway. Process wasn't too difficult with the help of all the videos. Trickiest part was the belt, make sure you understand how the belt is arranged before taking it off. 

Replaced blower wheel and drum support rollers. 

Replaced the blower wheel assembly, which was worn, and the belt. It was frayed. 

Ordered parts from AppliancePartsPros and got the problem fixed. My son was able to get it all together and is now drying and the basket is moving like it should. Thank you so much for getting the parts to us in a timely manner, 

Removed front of dryer, then unscrewed cover holding drum in place. Removing the c clip on motor shaft, I slid the old fan blade assly and replaced with new part and reassembled dryer. Done! 

My Maytag DE7500 was old enough that I ordered and replaced the blower fan, motor, idler pulley wheel, idler pulley arm and sleeve, drum support rollers and axles, and dryer drum belt. The motor switch was different on the new motor. I called support and Sally O. emailed me the instruction sheet that showed me how to rewire it. It took about 10 minutes to rewire it. Sally was very polite and helpful. 

Removed front panel - 2 phillips screws lower front -unhooked door switch wires Removed front drum support - 4 screws - nut driver unhooked door switch wire from clip and moved to side out of way Removed front blower cover - multiple screws including one to bottom of dryer that holds bracket - nut drivers Removed clip (looks like hose clamp) - needle nose pliers Removed retaining clip - special pliers - can do with flat blade and pliers Removed blower wheel and cleaned up shaft Assemble in reverse 

Remove the front cover and looked in where the exhaust fan was and found it was not turning because it was broken. Replaced blower wheel. 

Remove front panel then remove fan cover. Removed old blower and replaced it with new.
