Ron August 21, 2023 for Model Number DE9800 I hear a vibration from the dryer, it's not loud, but it's noticeable as almost a rhythmic or harmonic pattern. I've just replaced the drum rollers and axles, and I replaced the idler wheel and drive belt a couple years ago. Could the blower wheel be a culprit? The wheel itself didn't feel loose on the shaft when I last checked.
1 Answer Ron, It is possible that the blower wheel could cause a vibration if it is damaged but this would be more likely something with the drum rollers or the belt dragging that would cause this type of issue. Read More...
Jj December 07, 2022 for Model Number Maytag LSE7804ACE Hello, I just received my new blower wheel. I replaced it and turned the wheel by hand prior to reassembling. The rumbling that caused me to order the wheel is still there, and I notice that the new wheel is rubbing on the housing on the right side, just like the old one was. Any ideas will be appreciated. I thought about adding a nylon washer behind the blower wheel to give me that extra space to clear the housing. I wondered if there is an adjustment for the alignment of the motor instead, since there was not a washer behind the wheel when I removed the original. I've had this machine for more than twenty years and I've only had to replace bearings and belt for the dryer and now the blower wheel. thanks in advance for any advice- JJ
1 Answer JJ, the motor mounting clips WPY015825 would need to be checked to identify if one has come loose, allowing the motor to shift. The blower housing would also need to be inspected for any shifting and corrected as necessary. If the motor clip has come loose, it can be put back into place. However, if one of the clips have bent or become damaged, replacing it would be recommended. Read More...
Ashley October 08, 2021 for Model Number DE 303 The center spindle of my blower wheel broke into three pieces allowing the wheel to hang forward and scrape the housing. Both clips were installed. Is it likely that it broke because the drum rollers are old? or because the drum roller axles have a bit of rust on them? (our basement has flooded twice, though not within the last year.) Neither part seems terribly worn, but I'd rather not break another blower wheel unnecessarily if it's receiving undue wear from other old parts. Thanks so much! This site and the video that directed me here are very useful!
1 Answer Ashley, Thanks for the question!!! No, the rollers in the dryer would not have an impact on your blower wheel. It would only be affected by the motor shaft and the blower housing. Read More...
Ken November 23, 2020 for Model Number LDG9800 The Maytag dryer ignites and the flame burns for about 15 seconds and then goes out. Move control knob to new setting and it will flame for 15=/- seconds and flame stops again. What are my options to repair? thanks, Ken
1 Answer Ken, based on this information, it would be likely that the valve coils 279834 have failed. They can be tested for resistance. The two-prong coil will read 1,000-1,300 ohms, and the three-prong coil will read 1,300-1,400 ohms across prongs 1&2, and 500-600 ohms across prongs 1&3. Read More...
Tom October 30, 2017 for Model Number Maytag LDG8404AAE Dryer Our dyer drys. There is lint in the trap and it blows outside.. Problem is on the heat is hit and miss on all settings.
1 Answer Hello Tom. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter to see if it is good. If it is not glowing, test for power. Also make sure the gas coils are good on the unit. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Christopher Curlott June 30, 2017 for Model Number Idylis 416709 hey I put in Idylis and my model# and a Maytag blower fan came up. I didn't notice it was for a maytag dryer until I got my confirmation e-mail. The fan part # is: AP4294048. The MFG# is:Y303836. Will this work on a Idylis potable air conditioner model#: 416709?
1 Answer Christopher, This is a dryer blower wheel and unfortunately will most likely not work for your unit and we would not have parts for that brand appliance. Read More...
Laura L July 03, 2014 for Model Number Maytag Dryer I think my blower wheel is faulty. I have determined it is loose and making a rumbling sound. My question is would this cause my dryer to sound like the drum is slowing down and then starting up again in the middle of the cycle?
Sean February 24, 2013 for Model Number ldg8424aae When changing out the blower wheel, do you remove the front cover and replace from the front of the asssembly or do you have to disassemble from the back? It looks like 6 to 8 small nuts to pull off the cover right in front of the wheel
1 Answer Hello Sean. You will replace the blower wheel from the front of the unit. You need to remove the front panel and the blower wheel cover in the unit. Read More...
