How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4294048 / Y303836 Dryer Blower Wheel Assembly

Took the dryer apart to find what was wrong. Obviously, the wheel was shot, the belt was cracking and one drum support roller did not turn freely. 

Followed instructions on your website. Perfect. I fixed everything. Your videos are great. In and out 30 minutes. 

I replaced the Blower Wheel. The clamp was the hardest part.

I first watched a video on the issue at AppliancePartsPros.com. That showed me how to get to the area that I suspected was the issue. I opened the dryer and confirmed that the part had failed. I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com, the blower wheel assembly, and swapped it out when the part arrived. The tutorial from APP made it very easy to do and I trust them to send me the correct part for the job. 

First, I replaced the thermostat which did not fix the problem. I fabricated a short 1/4" nut driver using a drilled golf ball and JB Weld to get into the tight spot. The screw had a bit of corrosion. Next, I replaced the oxidized and crumbling Blower Wheel Assembly using the AppliancePartsPros.com replacement. The C-clip retaining ring and spring compression collar were a challenge to replace without the proper tools but achieved. Once reassembled the ancient Maytag Dryer worked like a champ. Ordered and replaced the Blower Wheel Assembly. 

First I went to your website to find the parts diagram of my dryer. I used the feature you offer of the list of problems and the possible solution by percentage. I had an idea what was wrong and it was high on your list. I then went into the dryer and confirmed the blower wheel was broken. I watched the video and it was very easy to replace so I ordered the part and when it came in I installed it that night. 

Found the Blower Wheel failed and replaced it.
