How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022400 / WPW10503278 Refrigerator Electronic Control Board

Replaced parts after we let the fridge thaw out. 

I spoke with the service department and she listened carefully, researched the problem, explained what she found,,told me which part I needed. I ordered it the next week. When I received it, I followed directions on You Tube, and had it replaced in less than an hour. It's been working fine. Thanks. 

Thanks to the great troubleshooting advice and video, replaced the electronic control board and the problem was fixed. Also got great customer service when the initial replacement part was faulty; part was replaced and the new part resolved the issue. Very happy with my experience with Appliance Parts Pros. 

Unfortunately the problem was caused by too high a humidity in the fridge section. Probably good to have a new control board but was not the problem. My humidistat also registers temperature and that was the main reason for using. But I soon realized that a water container usually in the frig raised the humidity to 75%. The guidelines on my Maytag call for a range between 24 and 30%. I also reviewed the operating instructions regarding proper Freezer and Fridge settings and made some changes. RJ 

Put it in forced defrost mode to make sure defrost components were working. They were, it defrosted. So I changed the Jazz board (mother board) and all is well. Apparently a common problem with certain fridges like mine. 

I used the troubleshooting procedures to verify the defrost heater and evaporator fan were ok. I was able to force a defrost cycle, so I bet on the control board. It seems to be working now (cross my fingers, knock on wood). The repair video was very helpful, but the board was more difficult to snap in two than I expected. 

At first we thought it was a fan not working. Replaced that and the problem persisted. Then looked further and saw it could be the jazz board. Ordered it, easily replaced it and we are now good to go! Glad I didn’t have to buy a new fridge! 

Evaporator was a block of ice. Ice was on fan motor to keep it from running. After thawing, fan working. Checked heater for continuity, was good. So replaced circuit board. All parts mentioned we're replaced due to unit being 9 years old and having to remove components to diagnose. Real problem was circuit board. 

Entered the model on the internet and your site came up with information that narrowed the problem down to a capacitor and control board. I bought both and along with your repair videos successfully installed the parts. Frig started working again. 

Replaced the Control Board for the 2nd time, but also replaced the fridge thermistor, just to be safe. The 1st time was less than a year ago, but was not an OEM part. This time we replaced it with the OEM part, so hopefully will last longer.
