How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6014843 / WPW10074580 Inner Cap

Bought a few inexpensive parts from you and had it repaired in 10 minutes. 

Purchased Agitator assembly and installed, works perfect now. 

Purchased the part and installed it all with the video within 15 minutes. I am a 1st-time homeowner and the process was so easy. So much better than hiring someone! Will definitely come back in the future. 

Reviewing your diagnostics, and repair videos, replacing the clutch assembly did the trick. Since the washer is over 10 years old, I figured since I would be replacing the clutch, I might as well replace the direct drive also. Machine works like new. Didn't realize the agitation had slowed down too. Couldn't be happier! 

Ordered a new agitator cam and dog set and replacement thrust spacer. Very good repair videos available on the site to demonstrate repairs. 

Once the agitator was disassembled, finding and replacing the broken pieces was very easy. No special tools, just a longer adapter for the socket wrench and with ease, it was DONE! Also, having an online parts source was integral in getting the easy part done. The options for shipping, though a bit pricey, made for less stress and a fast repair. 

Upon inspection we found that the dispenser and the inner cap were badly clogged with a very thick coating of several layers of dried on fabric softener. After scraping off the layers, we found a crack in the dispenser and a broken seal on the cap. After removing both parts and throughly cleaning the shaft it was very simple to snap the new pieces in place, no tools needed! It was a very simple fix and the washing machine works and looks great! Cleaning the area of the machine took ten times longer than the actual parts replacement. The parts were easy to order, inexpensive, and quick to arrive. 

I watched the online video showing how to remove the cabinet and then was able to easily replace the water pump in just a couple of minutes. Replacing the agitator cam kit was somewhat complicated by the fact that the original bolt head was very rusted due to the inner cap o-ring leaking. I cleaned as much rust away from the bolt head and used a six-point socket to remove the bolt. Following that, replacing the agitator cam kit was a straightforward process. I did replace the inner cap and o-ring. The door switch was very easy to replace by following the online video. At a minimum, I do suggest watching the video(s), made available by Appliance Parts Pros, showing how to disassemble the machine before starting the repair. This can save a lot of time and frustration. 

Followed the online video to repair. Very easy fix. 

Just set it in under softener unit.
