How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5989766 / W10854425 Clip

Video was helpful for removing front panel. The drum belt had slipped off the driveshaft. Easily repositioned..The dryer is about 30 years old. The bearing front support had become brittle and cracked. Replacing it was straightforward. I found that tilting the dryer back to position the drum on the rear support made replacing the front panel much easier. 

Replace both 

Replaced belt and door clips. Instructions were missing from parts packaging but online video did the trick. An extra pair of hands is helpful to hold the drum while fitting the door. 

I ordered and changed out the dryer door latch kit; dryer door switch; two clips for the front to hold the panel on; and light bulb in back 

I replaced the drive belt and rear drum felt seal. The front clips broke when I removed the front panel. The parts I got worked perfectly and my dryer is up and running and good as new. 

I replaced the belt

My husband watched a couple of easy-to-follow videos on their website and learned how to take apart the dryer, fix the problems and put it back together again. All in all, it took him about 1.5 hours to complete the job ... clean up and all! 

Replaced worn out drum roller wheels and drum belt. Since price was so cheap on website I bought tensioner also. Got correct parts first try. Great place for appliance parts.
