How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009043 / WP3977767 Hi-Limit Thermostat

I followed the video and had it done in about ten minutes.

Checked out your web site, watched a video, ordered the parts to fit my make and model, installed the parts, and dried my wash 

Replaced the sensors for the thermal-cutoff protection.

Originally during troubleshooting I didn’t keep going once I found the fuses were blown and just replaced those and the thermal cut-off and thermostat. The dryer worked for a few loads and then did the same thing again becoming extremely hot and then blowing the fuse again. Turns out it was the heating element all along. Of course this happened on a Friday and I didn’t want to go all weekend without being able to do laundry so I ordered a version from one of your competitors that would arrive the next day. I know, big mistake. It worked for a few loads and then the same issue, so I ordered the heating element from AppliancePartsPros.com. Paid for expedited shipping and now my dryer is running like it’s brand new again. This was a pretty simple swap and the YouTube videos online make it incredibly easy for anyone to follow. 

Replaced the Dryer Heater Element and both the Temp Thermostat and Thermal Fuse. Found the coils to have heat cracks in the housing but continuity was good. The thermal fuse had a burn mark and was probably the main cause, didn't test it though. 

Replaced the Heating Element and the Thermostats. It was extremely easy and the videos made it idiot-proof, which is good for me. 

Purchased the heating element and necessary parts watched the video and what an easy install. The site is the best for self-repairs. Thank you for the great video. 

Well, I ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros.com which came quickly. As my appliance is in a weekend home and I have not yet had time to make the repairs, it will likely go well when I do get to the repair work. The videos show how to do it, and having done appliance repair work in the past, I think this will go well too. I'm a former computer field engineer, so I'm up to the task. And if these parts don't fix the problem, I will come back for additional parts until it does.
