How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4010226 / 12002533 Door Boot Seal

I first watched the video and after that the repair was quite straight forward. I appreciatedthat the video was so well done and complete. My dryer is as new now and works perfectly....and no leaks 

Replaced the gasket just like the video tutorial, unfortunately for the third time in the life if this washer... 

Replaced the seal as described in instructions. Hardest part was reconnecting the cable around drum and the seal. 

I ordered the door boot for my Maytag washer late on a Thursday night. It was on my front porch Saturday when I got home from work. I didn’t get to it right away but when I did it generally went well. The how to video on the part description page was very helpful, I took my laptop into the laundry room when I started the project pausing after step. Getting the boot into the groove wasn’t as easy as the video made it look and when stretching the retaining spring Watch the video close. He starts out telling you and showing you to use needle nose pliers and a vise grip pliers to stretch the spring. This is darn near impossible. When he actually gets the spring hooked in the loop he has gotten rid of the needle nose and just holds the open end of the cable with his finger. The cables length on the rubber boot keeps it from slipping. 

Watched the video, removed and replaced part. It was harder than it looked on the video, but still pretty simple

I followed the excellent AppliancePartsPros video. The biggest challenge I had was re-attaching the spring and cable. The spring kept falling off the cable. To "hold" the cable in place while I stretched the spring I used white twine between the 2 ends of the cable. I pulled the string tight and tied it. This kept the cable in place while I inserted the spring in one loop and pulled to insert it in the other loop. After I installed the spring I carefully clipped and removed the string. 

I ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPro.com and fix it my self. I was really satisfied with the parts and run as new again. 

Watched the video you provided and took only a half hour to do. Quick easy fix and saved 200 bucks. Great place to get parts too.
