Kenneth F Novato , CA February 15, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH3000AAW Door would not close/lock properly resulting in washing machine failing to start Removed and replaced the door latch assembly. While I was at it I removed and replaced the door boot seal. The repair was extremely easy, especially after watching the included video. At one point I needed to speak to a technician. She was polite, concerned, and very helpful. I saved at least $150 in labor doing this repair myself and will return to applicancepartspro.com on all my future home appliance repairs. Read More... Russell D Roswell , GA February 02, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH5500BWW Small water leak on maytag washer appeared to come from front of machine Purchased door boot. The repair video is very good. It told me everything I needed to know. However, it made reattaching the cable and spring look far easier than it really is. The cable and spring holds the boot to the the washer drum. Key point is having two locking needle nose pliers and being able to pull really hard. I might suggest you mention attaching he boot to use the small marks on the rubber boot as alignment marks. It is critical to get the boot aligned correctly before reattaching the spring and cable. If you don't do this then the last step of attaching the boot to the outside door ring will not go well. The boot must line up with small holes on the plastic door ring. Remember to clean the drain line that attaches to the boot as this is easily plugged. Mine was really plugged up. The new boot and cleaning the boot's drain line fixed my leak. Wife is happy. Robert F Alameda , CA January 30, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Electric Dryer MDE5500AYW We have had issues with mold on the neptune gasket (boot seal) for years and then it began to leak I ordered the new gasket from Appliance Parts Pros after looking for options on line, and the instructional video clearly explained the method for removing the old one and installing the replacement. We were unable to use the washer after it began leaking and with a family of four it looked as though it would be necessary to start using the laundromat. My order came in two days and I was able to install it precisely as outlined on the video that day. The opportunity to open the machine allowed me to clean 10 years of dust and it is like a new washer again. I contacted Maytag 5 years ago when they had a recall on the machine due to the mold on the gasket and they were very unhelpful and gave no real option other than paying a repair person to come out and install a new gasket. I decided to clean the gasket with bleach and vinegar and then continue to dry out the tub after every use. This did eliminate the mold but it was always stained. Had I happened on the Appliance Pros back then I would have replaced it sooner. I am very appreciative of their help and allowing this DIY person to fix a straightforward problem. I now have them on a bookmark for their on line site and will use them when any other appliance problems come up. Read More... Robert P Newton , NH January 13, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Washer- Horizontal Axis MAH3000AWW Occasionally water would leak out of the front of the machine this was most noticable when washing with hot or warm water Replacing the Door Boot Seal took care of the problem. Actually since the problem was only occasional, I cannot be sure it is fixed. We have done several loads without any leakage. Read More...
