How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3094183 / 279570 Door Latch Kit

I purchased 2 of the door clips that hold the door closed but found that rather than one clip in each pack, as was advertised in the online site, each order came with a full set of clips. I unscrewed the front of the door and removed to expose the plastic brackets that had worn down causing the door to pop open when clothes fell against it. Replaced the parts and screwed the door face back on. 

I replaced the door-switch by following the directions your youtube video demonstrated. Very easy, fun, and satisfying project. Now my dryer is working again. Thank you! 

The part was a simple plug and play. Couldn't have been easer. 

High squeal when running. It seemed like there was some thumping also. I know rollers can go bad and often fix problems (which I have done a couple of times before on other dryers). The roller change went fine, probably made some things better. When I had everything apart I bumped the tensioner pulley for the belt...it made a high-pitched squeak. ...so I did not reassemble everything and went straight to AppliancePartsPros.com to order.. I am confident that with the roller and pulley fix everything will be great. Replaced the latch also. ...try not to have the old one fall into the door. ...it takes more time when you need to take the door apart to retrieve it. 

Replaced both drum support rollers and one axle. Also replaced drum belt as it was unknown if it had ever been changed in this old Kenmore. Also replaced door latch inside door. 

I watched your repair video and took the door off the dryer replaced the door latch with the kit I purchased, and it works great again. 

Door latch kit. Simple to fix after watching a you tube video. Take the door off, take to door apart by removing 6 small screws. Pull out broken latch catch, replace with new one. The kit comes with 3 catch types, but I didn't see any difference between them. There are 2 prong latch types to choose from. I would recommend! 

Watched a video on dryer door latch replacement. Followed the easy instructions and the repair took about 1/2 an hour to complete. 

The fix took no longer than 5 minutes using the new door latch parts and I didn’t have to take the door off or apart. I just pulled the old latch parts out and inserted the new one’s using a pair of pliers. 

I ordered the Latch Kit from AppliancePartsPros.com. The part arrived the next day. The short video was very helpful and had helpful instructions and hints to make the repair easy.
