How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3094183 / 279570 Door Latch Kit

Got the door latch kit and viewed the accompanying video. While the video didn't closely pertain to my dryer model, there was enough there to give me a good idea what to do. Of course, once the door was apart, there were several other issues that needed to be addressed, but the actual latch replacement only took me about 10 minutes. Easy peasy. (There were no instructions that came with the kit, but one of the photos on the web page for the kit was of the instructions.) 

We just replaced the switch. East fix and the video was great. 

We replaced the door latch WITH THIS Latch Kit 

Researched the trouble and decided to order the parts to bring with me out to visit family in California for the holidays and fix my brother's clothes dryer. The parts will be installed regardless of the trouble found. With any luck and fortune, the parts will fix the dryer trouble. Ordered belt, tensioner & roller kit, and door switch. Mike said he was just going to order a new set of laundry machines, but I persuaded him to let me try fixing it as I am confident that I will find and fix the trouble--stating that appliances should last a lifetime. Removed door, removed broken piece. Replaced part with the parts I purchased from AppliancePartsPros.com and reaffixed door! Shazam...latch fixed, door shut great! 

Unplug the damaged switch and replace it with the new one. 

Replaced heater, everything works great now! 

I put the above description into the search bar an appliance parts pros was one of the top choices. Due to the fact I’ve had positive interaction with them before I chose that site. The site and video were informative and it seemed easy enough. I ordered the parts (door latch kit) and The items were guaranteed to ship that same day standard shipping. The following day at around 2 PM I informed my son that I was going to start to take the dryer apart and clean it up including the vent/lint pipe cleaning-Because I expected the parts to arrive in about two more days. He tossed me the package which had just arrived? In less than 24 hours from Kentucky to eastern PA!!! I was able to pop the old door latches out with a screwdriver and pliers and the new one snapped into place. 5 minutes or less. Awesome!!! 

This was a very simple process as the latch just snaps in.
