How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3790434 / 280114 Dryer Drum Felt Seal

Using a couple helpful videos, I was able to do the job myself. It will be a while before I can say for certain whether this fixed the problem, but I do notice that the drum isn't squeaking like it used to. That's got to be a good thing! The video Appliance Parts Pros sent me was very helpful with applying the seal to the drum, but I found another of their videos that more closely matched my particular dryer. This helped me actually take apart the dryer. 

My wife bought a used washer and dryer set and then complained about the scratches and "dirty" felt on the inside of the dryer. Google to the rescue. Found your store, ordered touch up paint, new felt gasket, and a couple of other parts. After watching the instructional videos, the repairs were completed in half the time I thought it would take. Thanks for the help. 

Disassembled the cabinet, vacuumed the interior of lint, discovered two foam seals deteriorated, rear drum felt seal torn. Ordered replacement parts from AppliancePartsPros, replaced the three seals, reassembled cabinet, all good. 

Initially by lubricating the idler pulley and drum rollers. This only lasted a short time, so I then order the dryer repair it that included 4 drum rollers, the idler pulley and a drive belt. 

Replaced the felt 

I replaced the belt, drum support rollers, tensioner pully, drum felt seal on both the front and rear. Also replaced the (Front drum support) bulkhead. The bulkhead had a lot of chipped paint. 

I took the top and front panel off of the dryer exposing the drum, then followed the video instruction (which was very helpful) to the best of my ability to install the new seal. Reassembled the dryer after an hour. It’s now working as it should. 

Tore machine apart to see what was wrong. Ordered parts which I received in 24 hours GREAT. Watched the video on your page about gluing felt on(very helpful) Gave it a good cleaning before putting back together. I left top off for first run to make sure everything worked right ,belt tracked ok then finished. Word to wise use a magnetic dish to hold screws as a plastic doesn't hold screws when you knock it over. Now off to hardware store to buy a couple new screws that crawled under washer , opps Overall pretty straight forward project especially if mechanical inclined. 

Replaced the heating element, belt and related parts and Blower Housing Seal Everything fit perfectly and Dryer is back up 

I ordered the part and it came the next day which impressed me the most. I removed the drum and glued the new one on.
