How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6014070 / WP9760774 Oven Broil Element

Ordered part from you and installed yesterday. Seems to be operating normally again, pleasant people to do business with. Thanks for all your help. 

Tested for continuity and found none. Other elements were fine. Looked up and ordered part and using the "Fast" delivery, it was here in less than 24 hours. OEM part. Installation was simple and everything works well now. Local company wanted $125 for the element (which they had to order) (I paid total of $74.04) and $80 for service call with labor extra. I figure I saved $150 at least. 

Removed bad element, ordered new element and then installed it. 

When I removed the failed element, one wire had separated from its contact and fallen out of reach. I had to pull the oven, microwave wall unit out from the cabinet to do the repair. Four screws held the unit in place. I built a platform to the height of the bottom of the unit and had a friend help me slide the unit onto the platform to access the back and put a new clip on the wire that fell out. It was difficult removing and replacing the double oven unit in its opening, but I was able to replace the bad element without paying for a service call. 

Replaced broiler element 

With the help of my father and mother in law. They took out the old part and replaced it with the new part. 

My husband and I were easily able to replace the broiler element after watching a video on it. Not only was the part about 40.00 less than the electrician was going to charge, we saved an additional 120.00 in labor. 

Purchased replacement element from Appliance pros, arrived in two days. Piece of cake removing old element and installing new on. Old element was showing signs of melting but still worked. My advice is replace before old element melts, it makes job much easier. 

Installed new element 

I ordered the part from your company (I always go to you first) Why ? Because you always state I can return the part I ordered after I run a continuity check on mine when I remove my suspected part. That way when I tear it apart I at least have what I surmise is at fault on hand .. Ten times out of ten I have solved the problem ( sometimes with your help ). I really enjoy doing business with your company and I recommend your company to all my friends and associates.
