How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008778 / WP37001142 Dryer Lint Filter

Ordered new one 

Purchased a new one. 

I found the video that came with the part order extremely helpful it was specific to the model that I was working on. 

BOUGHT A NEW ONE, WORKS GREAT! 

Cleaned and lubed the two rollers the drum rolls on and replaced a 13 year old belt. I also cleaned the entire inside and resealed the hot air exhaust system to keep lint from leaking into the unit. The top on my old Amana dryer had two unmentioned screws holding the top down. Took a while to figure this out. 

I ordered and replaced the idler arm, belt tension pulley and dryer belt,and lint filter, Should have done it sooner, Our old lint filter was broken and not catching all the lint. I cleaned enough lint out of the dryer alone to fill 1/2 of a 5 gallon pail! This is a gas dryer and if this was not dealt with it could have caught fire! easy fix, took 3 hours total including removing the ducting under the house and cleaning it also. 

Replaced various parts that were showing wear 

Bought a new one, vaccumed out the hole and put the new one in. 

Got a new filter. My husband also followed your tutorial tp take the dryer apart and really clean the lint from even the blower. The tutorial was excellent!!!!!
