Joel B Munster , IN April 08, 2025 Grinding noise and not agitating as fast Initially I bought just the plastic hub bearing for the tub thinking it would solve the problem. Upon further inspection, I could see the input shaft on the trans was missing many teeth. Part came quickly and took a few hours to change out. I found a video from the company doing my exact repair on my exact washer. I took my time and my washer is like new again! Read More... Jay S Ladera Ranch , CA March 14, 2025 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW5000DW1 Washer transmission squealing The transmission was squealing so I decided to replace. At the same time I thought why not replace a bunch of parts to make the washer like new. AppliancePartsPro to the rescue with their videos and quick delivery of parts. The challenge was the transmission shaft was rusted to the tub and the agitator gear was rusted to the transmission shaft. I had to break out the agitator and use a puller to get that gear off the shaft. Then I had force out the transmission shaft out of the tub using penetrating oil and a hammer. After about 2 hours, I finally got everything apart. Reassembly with all the new parts was very easy and took only about a half hour. Had the transmission shaft not been rusted to the tub, it would have been a very easy project. Read More...
