How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009382 / WP4449253 Inner Oven Door Glass

We fixed it ourselves to save money. 

I removed the door from the oven by opening the door rotating the door release catches at the hinges. You must then close the door about half way and then pull outwards on the door. I placed the door on a padded work bench and removed all of the screws around the exterior of the inner door liner. Removed the door liner by sliding it slightly towards the top of the door and lifting it straight up. This exposed the inner most glass plate which I replaced. Reinstalling the door is simply reversing the steps. 

I googled an inner oven door glass for whirlpool ovens. I was able to put my oven model number in and immediately found what I was looking for. My oven is probably 15 to 20 years old and wasn't sure if I would be able to find the correct size. I received my replacement glass the next day and installation was easy. I only wish I had tried this sooner. 

Ordered and installed new element. This is an easy fix, now the broiler is working!! Super fast shipping!! 

Watched the video on your website (which was very thorough) and fixed it myself. 

Removed the oven door, dissembled the frame, installed the ordered new inner glass. The ordered glass is the exact size as the old one, so it fits well. 

I ordered the glass at 3pm PT on a Monday and I received the shipping info within the hour. It indicated it had been shipped and that it would be delivered the next day.I continue receiving the FedEx notifications and the delivery was delayed by a day. No fault of Appliance Parts Pros. Once it arrived It took no time to disassemble but we struggled we putting it back together simply because we did not pay attention to the order of the pieces when taking it apart. This is something to note for people that don’t normally repair things on their own. But otherwise, it was the perfect part, delivered within the timeframe indicated, and if you pay attention, easy to replace it in no time. Their tutorial videos are very helpful. 

Followed the instructions on the video. Took about 90 minutes to complete the repair. Had a difficult time getting screws and holes matched up and the spring assembly kept moving out of position. 

Took the door apart and replaced the glass. 

Took door off, unscrewed interior section of the door. Took apart and replaced the broken glass.
