How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011275 / WP74011778 Oven Door Handle

I unscrewed the top three screws of the oven door. Then pulled the glass front off. Removed the interier handle brackets (2 screws on each side). I reversed the process when I installed the oven handle. It was a little tricky installing the top bracket without chipping the glass front. Be patient! 

Part was here in one day w/standard shipping. 

After finding the model number, I went online and placed an order with Appliance Parts Pro. After discovering that I had ordered the wrong color (before it had shipped) a single phone call was all that was needed to rectify that issue with no cost to me :-) The replacement came within a week and fixing it (a Maytag) was very simple. Simply pulled the door upwards and it slid off the hinge (great design for repair or cleaning). Then it was simply a matter of removing the front of the door to access the bracket that held the handle. The whole project took about 20 minutes. 

I ordered the handle and repaired it myself. 

After ordering the part, the new handle arrived in less than 2 days. It was easy to disassemble the oven door and attach the new handle. 

Ordered handle and screws from Appliance parts pro. watched video on youtube. The simple fix took 15 minutes. I would suggest checking videos and taking the door off the oven, made so much easier. 

Disassembled the oven door to install the new handle.

Ordered new handle. Shipping was very fast and I am very impressed with the company. It was the right parts that I order to. 

Found my replacement handle, got it ordered and when it came in took the door apart. I was surprised by how much I had to take apart, so while I was taking it apart I pulled out all four glass panels and cleaned them. So it took a little more time doing this, but I have nice clean windows now. Only thing is the trim on the handles is slightly different, my wife doesn't notice but I do, so I'll probably change out the lower door at a later date
