How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6024142 / WPY055980 High-Temperature Adhesive

I did some research on the internet and found AppliancePartsPros.com. I found the parts I needed to complete the repairs and get the dryer back up and running. The parts arrived quickly and the how to do-it videos were a great help to me and gave me the confidence to make the repairs myself. 

Changed the part 

Renewing a 30 year old Maytag. Replaced the inlet valve, really easy. Replaced the old rubber hose to the bleach cup that had hardened and no longer reached the cup. Upon removal, I found the outlet into the tub was rotted and completely clogged. Sourced one from another supplier but a good lesson to replace the whole component whenever possible. Replaced damper kit using a different method from video that I found online in order to avoid taking the washer completely apart. I was extremely skeptical but it worked like all the testimonials. Not an easy repair but I managed on my own. A razor blade paint scraper made relatively quick work of removing the old pads. Rubbing alcohol cut through a surprising amount of old grease in the cabinet. 

Replaced seal 

Replaced glides and felts which I have done before on a different dryer. 

Rubber leg supports and heat resistant adhesive ordered and parts were easily affixed 

Reattached the seal with fire proof adhesive. 

Ordered a damper kit and installed it. Works awesome. thanks so much! Glen Sven

I probable could of used the old bearings, but your prices were so reasonable that I decided to replace them. i
