How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6024142 / WPY055980 High-Temperature Adhesive

Replaced the drum support rollers and belt - Also had to replace the tumbler bearing kit. Was actually fun fixing this myself. The supporting videos helped a lot. 

Watch the video took it apart step by step clean it then put the rollers in then clued the felt seal it was a little short but was able to improvise by cutting some of the old one im a woman now i know anyone can do it it took me some time but i got a brand new dryer 

I ordered both door seals - ( they came the day after ordering) this is an apartment size one piece washer on the bottom & dryer on the top type machine. I shut the breaker off to the machine, removed the door cleaned the surfaces & glued the new seals on. hardest part was getting things back together ( couldn't hold the drum up & get the door lined up & over the top by myself, because now it was a good fit. cut a board to hold the drum up & then it went on very easily. reassembled all the pieces, let it set till the next day so the glue would dry, turned the power back on & it works fine. 

Removed drum, vacuumed out lint build up, replaced both rollers. Replaced front felt seal (didn't need glue, seal held on with tabs). Reinstalled drum with new belt, and tested. OK 

Replaced two drum wheels, the belt and blower wheel. Also, since the dryer is over 20 years old I replaced both drum gaskets (felt) and gave the dryer and vent duct a thorough cleaning. Idler pulley appeared to be in good condition. 

Watched your video then pulled it apart and replaced all worn parts 

After 16 Years of non-stop operation out Maytag Neptune dryer needed some attention. I replaced all of the rollers and bearings, belt, and seals. I strongly advise you to also replace the axles, as mine were close to the point of being seized up. Cleaned up all the lint, replaced the parts, cleaned out the vent line. Dryer works like new and I hope to get another 16 years out of it. 

One of the drum support pulleys was seized. Replacing it and as a preventive measure changing out the belt, felt, bearing kit and tensioner pulley I should be good for another 13 years. My wife actually did most of the work. I only helped her reassemble it. Videos were excellent.......I mean excellent. 

Found the idler pulley on the tensioner was frozen also replaced drum felt which was missing in sections. Also cleaned out lint accumulation below filter. The repair was very easy and trouble free 

I watched the YouTube video from Appliance Parts Pros on how to replace the felt seal on the back if the dryer drum. I ordered the part and followed the instructions to remove the drum, take off the old seal and glue on the new part. After that it was just putting the parts back together. It didn't take more then an hour to complete minus letting the glue set-up.
