How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019072 / WPW10299224 Door Hinge

I removed and disassembled the door and replaced one of the doors hinges with a new hinge from AppliancePartsPros.com. The door works perfectly now! 

Took the door off and put the new Hinge on. 

First: the oven door needed to be removed and disassembled to arrive at the hinges to confirm if it is broken. Ordered a new hinge and replaced it. The most difficult part of this installation is when it comes time to insert the hinge legs into the oven jambs. Preload your hinge springs by depressing the hinge arms and locking them with temporary stays. Once the door has been installed the lowers the oven door just beyond 90 degrees and reset the hinge stays in the back position which will then lock the hinges in place. Very easy installation. Note the string hinge comes preloaded from the factory. Next time I would just leave the hinge in this position for installation. Good Luck!!! 

Went on your site, entered the oven info. A detailed parts list was available. The hinge spring assembly was identified in the drawing. I made the order on a Monday, it was delivered to my house the next day. I replaced the defective assembly in about an hour. Installed the door and it works perfectly. Spent about $40 and an hour of my time versus an oven replacement. 

Disassembled, ordered part, reassembled, wife happy, all's good. 

I took the oven door off of the oven and unscrewed the back of the door. I then put the new hinge in the place of the broken hinge and screwed everything back together. Placed the oven door back onto the oven and locked the hinges and it closed! We have a working oven again! 

Removed door from range, disassembled to access broken hinge, replaced with new hinge, reassembled the door, reattached to range. 

Removed front glass from retaining frame. Removed handle. Turned door over, removed hinge brackets, removed hinges. Replaced the hinges and reset all previously removed. Put door back on stove and observed opening and closing alignment. Okay! 

After a quick search I located the video that made the job seem fairly easy. I would evaluate my skills at handyman level. The most difficult part of the job was reinstalling the door after the new hinge was replaced. I had not seated the new hinge in the frame of the oven correctly a 1/16th of an inch more and the hinge dropped into the slot and the door worked like brand new. No more busted shins! 

Slowly took it apart, putting it back together was a bit difficult but finally figured it out and it was quick after that.
