How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011228 / WP74011140 Oven Door Hinge

Watched both videos on how to replace hinge and gasket. Went exactly as expected. Gasket took 5 minutes to change and hinge took about an hour. Spent more time cleaning all parts before reassembling than actual repair. Highly recommend Appliance Parts Pros for your source of parts and instructions on how to replace. Remove back panel of oven take off side panel (which ever side is broke) this is held on by 2 screws after removing back panel. Then there is another panel to remove held on by 1 screw then just take out the screws on the hinge and slide it out. put in new hinge and put back together in reverse order. just make sure to unplug the power before working on any appliance this repair was for a Magic Chef Electric oven model 3862XVA. It took about 1/2 hour to repair 

On utube, there are many examples of our problem, it was a good tutorial on the difficulty . nothing that could NOT be fixed by a 'handy man'.so, with many phone calls, we had no luck with finding a new spring locally, they are not stocked, this stove is 12 years old.now comes the search on the computer, bingo, the exact spring on you're web site...hooray..we knew that because we had already removed the broken one so we could be sure, replacement was easy,then, we also decided to replace the gasket on the oven door also...so for $54.00, we are in business a new stove, almost.....a repair cost would have ben considerably more money. thanks for stocking the spring, it was great to be able to do the repair ourself.
