How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011229 / WP74011141 Oven Door Hinge

I want to thank AppliancePartsPros.com for providing us with the exact door hinges needed, a faster delivery and lower price than Amazon. The replacement was for our gas wall oven, a 30" 4 cu-ft Jenn-Air JGW8130DDB. The door hinge replacement was difficult since the unit, weighing almost 200 lbs, must first be removed from the cabinet to gain access to the side panels. Nevertheless, now the oven door works perfectly. 

Replaced oven door hinge due to a broken spring. The video on the site helped me a ton in the take apart process. Installation was easy once I watched the video. 

The main thing to know was that the side panel had to be removed - or at least moved enough - to get to the broken hinge and to replace it with the new hinge. After that, it was a simple matter of removing all the necessary screws and swapping out the part. 10 minutes for research. 20 minutes to disassemble, remove the old, install the new, reassemble. 60 minutes to clean all the junk behind the range! :) 

Replaced hinges following the APPros video. Some persuasion required to reattach one side panel which was made a bit off at the factory. Also, the left and right side panels are identical except the factory installed a strip of cardboard on the bottom of each one. In the end, the oven door closes but I think on this model, the closing is not as positive as other ovens. As a side, removing the top and side panels gave us an opportunity to remove built up grease on the parts. Eesh. 

Ordered replacement hinges for the oven door. 

Followed the instructional video which was great---made the easy. 

The part was an exact duplicate of the original, and the video on replacing it was a good start even though it wasn't a 100% match for my stove. It took about 40 minutes to complete the job. 

Undo gas line. Removed oven from cabinet. Removed side panels. Replaced hinge. 

The new parts fit and worked perfectly and were received in record time. Thanks 

After receiving my 2 hinges, I ordered 2 because you never when the other one might break, I started to disassembled the side panels at 9am. It was all put back together by 9:45am. Two sides. No problems, easy fix. It was a Maytag brand with a glass top, but that was no problem. Easy fix for a handyman.
