How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011229 / WP74011141 Oven Door Hinge

Looked for videos on the problem. Finally figured out how to remove the hinge (my oven model was not on any of the videos) This took by far the longest time. Looked for the part on various web sites (old enough to need a replacement number). Found best price/shipping combo on this web site. When the part came, took the oven back apart, replaced the hinge, put the oven back together and away we went (this took less than 30 minutes, including gathering and putting away tools). 

Ordered knew hinge. watched your video and took about 20 mins to fixed. got the part very fast o once again. thanks. 

Trail and error 

I turned off my stove circuit breaker first. Then I unplugged the stove and brought it out into the kitchen for easy access. Next I removed the back panel by removing several screws. After that I was able to unplug two wiring connectors that led to the stove top. (mine is a glass flat top stove) Next I removed the oven door by opening a few inches and pulling up and off. Then I removed the two corner screws that hold the cook top on, and removed the entire cook top to set aside. Next I removed the screws that hold both of the side panels on. I also had to remove a total of 4 screws that were at the control panel corners to gain access. The side panels pull out at the bottom and then slide up and off of pins. Then it was easy to remove the hinges and replace. Only 2 screws hold each hinge on. They pull out of the opening towards the back of the stove. Reverse procedure to reassemble. 

Ordered new hinge from Appliance Parts and it only took 10 minutes to repair. Very easy! 

Went Great....Took about 10 minutes to change both hinges. 

My handyman took everything apart, and with the replacement hinges, he was able to repair the door. It works fine now.
