How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6020369 / WPW10358149 Internal Drain Hose

A family friend had an issue with his washing machine when he started the washer water went everywhere. I went over and we had found that something had chewed a hole in all the plastic hoses. I ordered the hoses and we relaxed them and all is well..I have used these parts for a number of repairs and they have all seemed to work and saved me a ton of money over the years.

I visited the web site and quickly found both the part needed and a video explaining how to replace it. The repair went smoothly, taking a total of 30 minutes. Shipping was fast, and I received exactly what I ordered. 

I was looking for videos on how to determine the problem and I saw the appliance parts pros video on youtube and visited your website, which is very users friendly. I am a 57 years old woman that has NEVER repaired an appliance before , but when I saw the video that shows you what to do step by step ( which is AWESOME) I thought I’ll give it a try and save some money. So I went to the store, I got some tools, and fixed it , no more water under my washer machine! thank God !! My laundry room is very small so it took me 4 1/2 hrs to finish but it is ok , I learned a lot about washing machines. Thank you very much appliance parts pros !! 

Very simple to remove pump spring clamps and reattach new one. Because I was replacing hoses I didn't remove old ones at the pump. Reattaching the new outlet hose required me to purchase a new hose clamp (hose did not come with one) as old one used the pinch style and I prefer the screw/nut driver kind. Job took about 10 minutes once cabinet removed. Full disclosure: I had removed cabinet several years ago for a different repair and knew the ropes. Furthermore, if one can avoid removing the panel and cabinet do so. It requires an hour or so to clear space in cramped quarters, release the screws/spring clamps, lift off and store the cabinet in a larger room, and then reverse the process. Access is available underneath but space and weight of machine make this a riskier proposition. I ultimately found out the leak (not totally isolated) is in the wall probably the result of a drain pipe freeze over winter. However, I now have new drain pump and tub/outlet hoses at a very reasonable price and FAST service. 

Tipped washer back, detached clips holding drain hoses and drain pump. Found hard wire punctured main drain hose and impeller blades were worn inside the drain pump. Looked up model schematics on appliancepartspros.com. Very helpful to match the exact parts needed. Placed my order and two days later received all parts as ordered. Repairs took 20 minutes to install the new parts and washer was back running 100%!

Replaced both hoses, parts was perfect match. Complete in about 10 minutes 

I went to u-tube to see how the repair was made. They took the whole front of the washing machine off. I found this disassembly unnecessary. Just by tipping the machine over, the drain hose became accessible for repair. It only took a few minutes to do. I did find that the part I needed was much less expensive at ApplianceParts, $25.00 vs $45.00, than my local Sears store. I watch your video made it very easy to find the problem and replace the pump. I also replaced drain houses .it only took less than one hour. I saved 300.00 dollars. thank you for advice and videos.
