How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4399659 / 8269144A Drain Hose

I figured out that it was probably a plugged pump hose, since the pump would run, it somtimes it drained and sometimes it didn't. Your video helped with how to take the dishwasher out and replace the hose. I replaced the hose and everything is now working fine. It turned out to be a broken check valve in the old hose that caused the problem. It took 90 mins to do the repair. 

Replaced with new one. 

Check the hose clamps before ordering the sump! I called to talk to a pro and they suggested buying the sump as well as the diverter motor, which I did. While removing the motor from the old sump, I had to destroy the old hose clamps that were on the small hose connecting the sump and motor. The clamps that were on my Kenmore were compression clamps, not the type with a screw. I checked Lowes, Home Depot and a local hardware store and nobody carries a large enough clamp with that small of a width. So, I had to stop in the middle of fixing my dishwasher to order the right clamps (part # AP5971447). I haven't been able to finish yet because I'm still waiting for the clamps to arrive, but I was able to get the new sump installed without any problems. The how-to videos are excellent. 

At first I thought it was a clogged line but then I realized I did not hear the pump running when I selected the ‘drain’ option. Replacing the pump was very easy. I spent more time trying to put the dishwasher back in under the counter and correcting the insulation Than it took to replace the pump. Overall it took about an hour and about 15 minutes to replace the pump. 

I watched the video here and it looked pretty simple, so I ordered the pump and received it the next day for only $10 shipping. The repair went smooth as glass, just like the video and had it done in about thirty minutes. 

My Kenmore dishwasher was making a very loud noise when in operation that was getting progressively worse as time went on. I determined it was the main pump motor. I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros and paid the extra $3 for next day shipping. As promised it showed up the next day! I watched the video and replaced the part. Easy peasy! Literally the hardest part was removing the dishwasher from the cabinet. Setting the new motor assembly was a little difficult too, but fallow the directions on the video and it will go in just fine. While I had the dishwasher out, I replaced the drain hose as well just for precaution. My water supply line was in good condition, so I didn't replace it at this time. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace is as well. Put everything back together and my dishwasher is nice and quiet again! Thanks Appiance Parts Pros! Oh by the way, APP was $40 cheaper the Sears. Plus shipping was cheaper too. 

Removed the lower front cover (2screws), removed ,2 mounting screws and pulled washer out far enough to remove and replace water supply line. Put it back together and was finished. 

Ordered new dishwasher drain hose and installed it. Only took about 30 minutes. Didn't have to slide dishwasher out because I used the old drain hose as a guide to install the new one. I taped the new one to the old one and pulled the new one in place without having to slide dishwasher out from under the cabinets. 

I repaired with hoses that arrived within a day. Great service and tech support. Best company to buy parts from and ask for advice. 

Replaced hose, but sadly there was an elbow joint that also had to be replaced. To make things worse there was another leaking hose. I bought the parts at the Dallas store.
