Special thanks to the customer with the idea to use a 5/8in socket to hold the four prongs to remove the control knob. That was a useful trick. I'm a single mom of four and on a tight budget. This repair saved me tons and my dryer is working like brand new. Fyi I used a tiny flathead to remove the star screws, it worked fine. Read More... Robert K Bolivar , MO October 01, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Electric Dryer GEW9250PW1 When dryer was turned on front panel did not light Replaced the electronic control board. The tool needed is a 5/16 nut driver, remove the three hex-screws on the back top and slide the top back an inch and lift up to remove the top. Remove the three hex-screws on the left and lift up carefully this gives access to wire connection and the two hex-screws on the left side holding the front control board. Remove the two remaining screws on the right, disconnect the wiring harness and remove the front. The control board is held in with plastic tabs pry them loose carefully and replace with new board. The new control board comes with all gray buttons I replaced them with the colored buttons from the old board. Put back together in reverse order. Read More...
