Jane March 30, 2019 I have a GEW9250PW1. Everything works except the start button will only work intermittently. Would this be caused by the control panel board on the front of the dryer? Or possibly, the main control board inside the dryer
1 Answer Hello Jane, This can be caused by the board WP8546219, the control panel WP8558756, or a connection between the two. Read More...
Vinny February 08, 2019 for Model Number GEW 9250SU0 Hello, I have a Whirlpool Duet that the control light is illuminated but door can be opened and closed and light is on inside drum. If you push and hold control lock button for 3-5 seconds nothing happens and light is still illuminated. No other buttons/functions work, dryer does not start. I unplugged and tried to reset for 30 minutes/all night, plugged back in nothing! Is my control panel/board bad? part #?. Thanks
1 Answer Vinny, With no button function, this would most likely be caused by a faulty control board on the unit. Read More...
Robert November 05, 2018 for Model Number GEW9250SU0 My dryer overheated and will not shut off. Control lights come on intermittently but the dryer does not respond to controls - just runs on high heat. Had to turn off a breaker. Will a new control panel correct the problem or is additional troubleshooting required>
1 Answer Robert, the high heat condition may have ruined the motor relay on the control board. go to the control board that is mounted just above the drum on the left side. Find pin 1-4, with your meter, check to see if 120 volts is present from P1-4 and P1-2, if there is voltage, replace the control. Read More...
Evan July 05, 2017 for Model Number GEW9250PW1 Currently having control lock lite up and " - - " on the display timer. (Both dim). After many many unplugging / plugging, the controls may work for a short awhile and then become unresponsive. This seems like the right part for those symptoms. I read in a different answer that this may not be the right color but I imagine I can just swap out the two interior circuit boards. Thanks
1 Answer Evan, Yes this issue would most likely be caused by the user interface board which is part number WP8558753. Read More...
Earl March 29, 2017 for Model Number GEW9250SU0 Dryer runs No heat. Checked element, resistance correct. Checked thermistor resistance correct. Checked thermal fuse which I did not suspect but checked anyway, fuse is good. Checked both components of the thermal cutoff kit. Both good. Any ideas?
1 Answer Earl, There are 2 components other than the thermostats which would cause the heating element not to work. First is the motor and second the Control board. The best option is to disconnect the power to the unit and access the heating element. Disconnect one wire that is going to the heating element, preferably the one on the thermostat side. Plug the unit back up and using a multimeter you will want to turn the dryer on and test for 120 vac at the terminal on the heater where the wire was disconnected. What this will do is eliminate the heater element itself and the motor. If there is 120 vac at this point then you know the heater is good and the motor is good because the other 120 vac coming through the thermostats is the control board side of the circuit. If there is not 120 vac at that point then you will want to test the other terminal on the heater and check for 120 vac. If there is not 120 vac then the motor would be bad . Read More...
Kevin August 18, 2015 for Model Number YGEW9250PW1 My dryer out of the blue (while idle) started beeping. The Control Locked light keeps going on and off and beeping each time it changes about every 2-3 seconds. None of the controls are responsive. I can't get it to go into the diagnostics mode. I am pretty sure the board at fault is P/N 8449531. I have read of many others having this same issue. Most are solved by unplugging and plugging back in, but mine is not responding to this. Is this something you have reported before? If so is this the part (one of the parts) responsible and seeing I was redirected to P/N AP4297114 is this the right part for the YGEW9250PW1 PS: visually inspection of both sides of the boards reveals nothing wrong. Everything looks clean, no burn marks or anything that should cause an issue so not sure why it is acting up. Any help is greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Kevin. Make sure a button is not stuck. If not, you will need to replace part number WP8558756 in the unit. Read More...
