How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4359694 / W10190935 Ice Maker Control Module

Months ago we replaced the water inlet value, but that didn't seem to fix the problem. I shopped on line for a complete ice maker, I thought that would be easier just to replace the complete ice maker. For our fridge they don't sell the ice maker. I ordered the ice maker control module hoping that would fix the problem. I watched the repair video from appliance parts pro and tackled the project. Got it changed in about 20min with no problems, turn the ice maker back on and crossed my fingers. After an hour or so it takes awhile for the ice to make and drop, I heard the ice drop!!! Yea...after probably a year we now have a bin full of ice cubes. If I had known it would have been that easy would have done it long ago. Thank you appliance part pros!!! 

My brother and I figured out what the most likely problem was, I ordered the part. He did the repair. The ice maker is making ice and I am happy. 

I installed the timer. will install the water control valve this weekend. Installing timer was MUCH easier than in the video. 

Ordered new ice maker assembly. Replaced the motor with new one. 

Did some research on potential causes and found that the Ice Maker Control Module was the most common cause. I then ordered one from AppliancePartPros and in a couple of days it was here. I then watched the video through the link that was included with the e-mail invoice and then did the replacement. The hardest part for me was getting the wire harness reconnected, kind of tight for fat fingers. Had ice in about 90 minutes. 

I replaced the ice mold and the control. The heater element burned the contact information the control. 

After watching video on how to take it apart, I found a plastic gear had broke. Found the part at Appliance Parts Pros.com and received it in 3 days. It was an easy fix. Was very very easy fix only take like five minutes from start to finiche. Thank a million Jenaro 

I turned the frig off. I removed the control module protective cover and pulled out the on off arm by pulling it toward the rear of the freezer. I unscrewed the three screws holding the module in and pulled it off. I replaced it with the new module screwed it in pushed the on off arm back in. Done in under 5 minutes. 

Hey, no ice! Called the HVAC guy, he changed the Solenoid got water to the Ice Maker, turned teeth counterclockwise, "break" No Ice! Checked our Motor Control Module. Found Gear shaft broken. oops. local distributor for quick same day pick-up double price! Appliancepartspris ordered out of local overcharging principal. Hey, next day!, part arrives, half price, put it in in 15 min, and Ice! Thank you guys! dr. dave
