How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP7244933 / W11729596 Ice Maker Field Install Kit (Tm, Sxs)

Dropped it in. 

The replacement part came with complete instructions on how to install and troubleshoot the device. It was as simple as removing about ten screws, disconnect the old one, and then pop the new one in. We did have to run out and get a pressure fitting and shut off for the water line, but thats because those parts failed from old age, and had nothing to do with installing the new ice maker. 

Order a new one, 

I tried a number of times to adjust the water volume, but it wouldn't keep the water volume constant. I ordered a new ice maker from APP.Com and in three days I received a replacement unit. In 15 min., following the included instructions, I had a new icemaker installed and working properly. No More Mess! Thank you. 

Replaced the existing ice maker with a new one for a fraction of the price to have the other fixed. Installation went extremely easy and with the help of the Youtube video it was a breeze. Total time less than 30 minutes. The new unit is functioning excellently. 

Ordered and installed new icemaker. 

Ordered the universal module kit and replaced 98% of the original components. 

The only thing not included in the ice maker kit was the supply line and 3/8 ×3/8×1/4 tee. install was a breeze about 15- 20 minutes 

Viewed the how to video on Appliance Parts Pros website, then called to order the needed parts. Verified which part number met my needs and placed the order. Was told it would take three to five days to arrive, but got it in two days. Installed the water valve and new ice maker, but it did not immediately fill the unit with water. Checked everything but still no water so I called APP. They informed me that it would take some time for the unit to get cold enough to call for water. In a few hours I checked and found ice. Now working properly. 

I watched your video about 10 minutes, I can do that! I see he didn’t have to look for his tools. Glasses, and other stuff. So it took a little longer. About 20 to 30 minutes, everything went smooth lots of ice. Thanks for all your help!
