How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP7244933 / W11729596 Ice Maker Field Install Kit (Tm, Sxs)

Originally I ordered the part from a different company but it did not include the water intake valve (it was missing from the kit). I ordered then from Appliance Parts Pros and received my package in one day! I was very impressed. It was so easy to replace once I had all the correct parts and it worked! 

I found the model number of my 1996 Kenmore refrigerator on the inside of the door. Not knowing whether it was the icemaker components or the water valve, I chose to buy the complete kit from Appliance Parts Pros. I replaced both within an hour and the new icemaker is working great. 

Found the right part very quickly and had it installed within 30 minutes after it was delivered. 

I replaced the entire unit. It was a matter of removing 3 screws, undoing the electrical connectors and reversing the procedure to install the new unit 

Ordered and installed a replacement from APP! 

The Customer Service rep identified the correct ice maker for my new Fridge. I got it on the day they said it would arrive. It took me literally 15 min to install because water source was three feet away. A parakeet could install the ice maker. Note it takes several hours for the new ice maker to start making ice due to internal sensors. I think so if your freezer ever stops cooling it would flood your kitchen. So expect to wait 8 hours or 24 hours for ice. 

Installed complete icemaker kit.
