How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4009459 / 12001677 Injector Valve And Nozzel

Replaced injector nozzle (didn't know there was such a thing)

Replaced injector valve and nozzle. Old parts looked good but the injector valve was not as pliable as the new valve. After new parts were installed no more leak. The video was helpful on how to get the washer apart. Easy once you know-how. 

Replaced the injector valve/nozzle 

Shawn's repair guide was most helpful. Followed his guide and ordered the parts from appliancepartspros.com, and now all is working properly. I have done several loads and so far their is no leaking. Removed the front panel, unbolted and lifted the top, exchanged the injector valve and clamps. No more leaks. NOTE: the injector valve was gunked up but had no holes. It was older and may not have had enough rubber-play to work. It only leaked intermittently, so replacing it was in order to ensure I had no more leaks AND would not need to take it apart again. 37 year old machine with Appliance Parts Pros parts replacement over the years. Old Maytag washers = best machines. 

Went to Appliance Parts and entered the issue that was happening with the machine. The most common cause was listed along with the replacement parts necessary to correct the issue. Ordered the parts and received them the next day. I replaced the original parts with the replacement parts and the issue was fixed. 

Called my brother who found the Injector Nozzle was full of pin holes. Worn out after 35 years. 

Replaced the Injector valve and nozzle. 

We ordered the part - it came within days and we put it in. Had no trouble putting it in. Our machine is 31 years old so we had a little trouble getting the top cover screwed back on but all went well in the end. Very pleased with the results.
