How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4009459 / 12001677 Washer Injector Valve And Nozzle Assembly

YouTube video showed it to be injector valve. Ordered the part on Friday, got by Sunday! (Thank you Appliance Parts Pros and USPS Sunday delivery). However, I put it in wrong and still had to call Appliance Doctor, but he just had to roll the top over the valve (which unrolled when I installed it into the tube). Glad you had the part to my ole Maytag, may it run forever! 

Replaced the injector valve & nozzle. 

Removed the front panel, then removed 2 screws to raise the top. Then turned the machine on to determine source of the leak. Removed the hose clamp on inlet, pulled off the hose and pulled out the injector valve. Reinstall of the new part took 5 minutes. My first order was lost by fed-ex; appliance parts pros shipped a replacement order the day after I notified them of the loss! Customer service is outstanding! 

Got the right part from y'all and you tube, using washer right now. 

Replaced the sleeve in injector. So happy to have repaired this 1984 Maytag washer! It’s a workhorse! 

Purchased part numbers 12001677 (AP4009459) and WP215447 (AP6005849). They arrived super fast, put them on the machine and no more leaking. 

Replaced the injector valve and nozzle 

Proved to be unrepairable. 

Replaced the injector. 

Replaced the entire injector assembly.
