How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009052 / WP3979346 Water Inlet Valve Assembly

Replaced the leaking hose and clamps. Installed a new pump and solenoid water control valves. Upon a complete disassembly performed a major cleanup as it needed it badly as this unit is over 10 years old! With this service it should last another 10 years! 

Disconnected the hoses, unplugged the appliance, and released some screws in the back panel to access the valve. Pulled it out easily making sure to remember which wires went where. Replaced it and put it back together. 

We watched the video a couple of times and felt confident we could tackle this job. Our laundry area is in a closet on a narrow hallway, so the working space is very tight. My wife wanted to do the valve replacement, so she was at the rear of the machine while my job was to handle the removal of the cabinet. She did exactly as the video showed, and we had the job done very quickly, with no issues. Doing this simple repair ourselves saved us a lot of money.

Replaced it with a new one. 

Using the diagrams available on the website we were able to find and order the needed replacement part. The video guided us easily through the repair. This is the 3rd time we have used your company for parts and repair. We have passed your website onto several friends and neighbors that have also had good success. As a household with healthcare workers that are working through this pandemic. Not having a working washer is not an option. It was faster(and less expensive) to overnight the part and fix the machine ourselves than calling a repair service. THANK YOU!
