How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4009041 / 12001788 Washer Drive Belt And Isolator Kit

Replacing the belt and isolator kit. 

Replaced idler arm and wheel. Also replaced belt and drum rollers. 

Used new belt and isolator kit, following the video instructions on the website. Extremely easy, went very well. 

I used some youtube videos for guidance ordered the new belt and did the replacement myself in accordance with the instructions that came with the new belt. At first I didn't think anything was wrong with the old belt until I compared it with the new belt and could see that it had stretched quite a bit. For anyone doing this repair just remember the belt is very very tight going on. 

Completed seal and bearing repair and then replaced belt to motor. 

I looked at your video and ordered the parts took washer apart it went good unit the bearings they were rusted and the puller was no help so I used a heavy netal chisel and carefully tapped out rusted bearings the Maytag is 14 years old first problem with it but when I got them out cleaned everything put back together now I have a very not noisy washer 

1. Touchpad, remove back and overhead, unhook touchpad wires, remove module and reinstalled module, reinstalled wires and hooked things up. Ran machine through diagnostic test. All was good. 2.Belt: Remove back. Took bolt out of motor. Remove belt. Laid motor on bottom and changed pivot bushings of motor. Remove pulley off back of drum. Remove old belt from behind pulley and cleaned debris. Reinstalled pulley, motor back on drum. Installed bolt in motor before installing belt! Roll new belt in place. Spun multiple revolutions and aligned belt with motor pulley. Run through spin cycle. Installed back on machine. Back in service. 

Replaced tub seal and bearings 

Exactly as the video showed. The belt stretch was challenging. 

I ordered a new belt, but the belt was shipped with "insulators" . They are basically motor mounts. I hadn't given them a thought, but they were bad. With out replacing them I am sure the new belt would have slipped. Thank you for selling them as a kit.
