How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6012288 / WP8269117 Dishwasher Door Latch Handle

I replaced the piece – the handle – that was broken 

Ordered a replacement latch and springs, viewed the video on how to install the latch and springs, and was done in less than 10 minutes. The parts were great, but the video was exceptionally well-done and important to the success of the repair.

After removing the front upper panel to assess the problem. I went to AppliancePartsPros.com and entered the model number of my dishwasher and was able to locate the part I needed. I also watched the video on how to make the repair, witch made my job easy!! Once the part arrived, it took less than 15 minutes to install and saved me a $150.00 service call Thank You!! APP 

Replaced the broken latch which activates a switch allowing the dishwasher to run. I discovered that the broken latch handle and would allow the switch to release from the vibration. This quick fix saved me several hundred dollars in diagnostic and repair costs.

Searched on your website for the part and viewed your linked video on how to replace the latch handle. Instructional video was excellent. Took me about 20 minutes to complete the repair. Saved the cost of a professional service call repair 

Ordered the part and watched the instruction video and followed it. 

I suspected a loose wire connection inside the door. Upon further inspection after removing the front control panel, I determined that the latch handle was broken which prevented the "door closed" switch to be activated. 

I removed the 6 torx screws that attach the contol panel to get to the handle removed the damaged handle and installed the new one. I remounted the control panel and installed the 6 torx screws. Start to finish 10 minutes a very easy repair!
